How often should I change the oil in my vehicle?

It’s best to follow your owner’s manual. Most recommend an oil change every 7500 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. However, these recommendations are typically under “ideal“ operating conditions. If you drive in any of the following you may need to change your oil sooner.

• Stop and go traffic
• Extremely hot or cold temperatures
• Prolonged high engine speeds
• Short trips less than 10 minutes in length
• Multiple car start ups each day
• Long periods of engine idle
• Towing or hauling heavy loads
• Dusty or muddy conditions
• Mountainous terrain
